Sorry we weren't around pretty much at all yesterday - we were celebrating our guardian's birthday. She turned 28, ancient!
All of us - including the girls next door, who we consider family too - piled in cars, and headed to a little town about half an hour from the city, where one of Blakeney's friends lives, and we played in an outdoor swimming pool (Inna tried on her new bikini,) had a picnic barbecue, and then took a walk along the harbour after we ate. It was a lot of fun! The temperature was only in probably the high 70's or low 80's, and the sun wasn't high in the sky, so Clare even managed to join in some of the fun, with sunscreen and a lot of clothing on. The younger girls couldn't be there because they're still at camp, but the rest of us had a great time! It's fun to be one big family!

The Green Girls
P.S. We still need to think of something to call our neighbours besides "our neighbours" on the blog. We're trying to think of a pseudonym!
Joyeux anniversaire to Blakeney! The person on my end wishes her a happy birthday (even though it's belated)as well.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you girls had a fun day!
Maybe you should call you neighbors the Roses- rose is my favorite color, after all. :)
Bises,
Sabine
Glad you all were able to participate in celebrating Blakeney's birthday!! Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteBlakeney says thanks for the birthday wishes, and that she had a very lovely birthday. :-)
ReplyDeleteSabine - we really like your idea! Thanks! I think we'll use that. The Roses would be a great name for them.

Happy Birthday to Blakeney .. how kewl that you got to celebrate with her .. congrats to her and hope it was a wonderful birthday ..
ReplyDeleteI like the Roses .. that is much better than the neighbors when they are such a close part of your lives now ..
Hey do you or Blakeney have a facebook account?? We do a lot of facebook fun chatting to now .. our Mama would love to be friends with Blakeney on facebook too .. we have one of our own too ..
Laters,
Marsali
Blakeney says thanks, Marsali! She had a very nice birthday. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt was definitely starting to get weird to say "our neighbours" when they're more like family than just acquaintances. Calling them the Roses will work well. (Thanks again for the suggestion, Sabine! We love it!)
None of us have an active Facebook presence. Blakeney technically has an account, but she rarely logs in, so it's not really a very effective way to get in touch.
She says you're always welcome to PM her at AGPT if you want to chat, though. ;-)

The Green Girls
Happy (late) birthday to Blakeney! Sounds like you all had a lovely day. =) In SoCal where I live, we won't see the low 80s for another 6-8 weeks at least, so I'm a tad jealous. =P
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Blakeney! Parties are so much fun. Sounds like this one was a blast!
ReplyDeleteEmily
Lucy - This is the hottest it's been all summer! That's what happens when you live in a sub-arctic region. (Although this summer has been cooler than most.) Still, it's really pleasant at the moment.
ReplyDeleteEmily - It totally was! :-)
Blakeney thanks you both for the birthday wishes.

The Green Girls
Happy Belated Birthday to Blakeney. We've been blog-absent lately (okay, Lucie made up that term) but wanted to chime in with best wishes for what we hope was a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteI like the "Roses" term but old fashioned Kirsten in our home keeps saying "War of the..." when we mention the Roses. Hopefully your neigbours are on friendly terms.
Hugs,
Juliette, Lucie and Claudette
Blakeney says thanks to you too, girls! She had a great birthday. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe've seen no sign of dynastic competition between our neighbours, but we'll keep an eye out. We were kind of planning on making that joke too if we ever see them argue. ;-)
*hugs*
