To Get Away from It All...

Hey folks, this is Bree. This is a special day for me... anyone remember why? That's okay, you don't have to remember. I'll just tell you. It was exactly one year ago that I joined the family! :-)

Some of you may also recall the circumstances. For various reasons (including no one actually knowing where I was for awhile...) my arrival was delayed way beyond when the family was expecting me, and so when I finally arrived, everyone was about to leave for a trip to Florida that they'd had planned for awhile. Fortunately I got there in time to go along. After all that, it wasn't a big deal to head off somewhere else, and it was a good way to get to know my new sisters.

Well, guess what? It's that time again! The Bree-iversary means it's also time to go back to Florida. We're leaving Saturday morning, and we'll be back on the 27th. We're really excited about beachy fun! :-)

One of the best parts is that this year, the Roses will be coming with us! Last year at this time, we didn't know them yet. Now we're one big family and we all get to go together.

We'll do our best to update the blog while we're gone, although we'll probably be pretty busy so we may not get much time to be online. Blakeney is bringing her laptop and promises to give us a turn from time to time, so we'll try to keep you in the loop.

Yay for vacation time! :-D

Love,
Bree

      Thanks, Taryn! :-)

This year sure went by fast! It's honestly been the best year of my life. I'm so glad I joined the family.

Thanks for the well-wishes! I'm sure we'll have a great time. It's kind of fun to be going back to a familiar place, since we'll be staying in the same condo we did last year.

      Thanks, Reese!

We're having a weird ice storm here... hopefully that won't delay out flight. It's making us all the more eager to escape to warm climates.

Thanks, Emily! Time does fly indeed! :-)

Hard to believe the family has been blogging for almost 14 months now! (Although obviously I didn't join in myself till a bit later.) In some ways it seemed quick, and in some ways it seems like forever. Good times!

I'm glad we've gotten to have a year of friendship, Emily... and here's to many more! :-)

  4. Bree,
Happy Anniversary! That is so exciting! Did Blakeney and the family celebrate with you in some special way? I hope you all have a great time in Florida. My sisters and I love reading your blog and we are bummed we can't go to the beach with you. Build a cool sandcastle. Have a safe trip!
    Love,
    Samantha

      Hi Samantha! :-)

We haven't really celebrated yet because we're getting ready for our trip - although the family remembered and congratulated me - but we're going to do something special while we're in Florida. I'm not sure what. It'll be a surprise for me.

We will build an awesome sandcastle in your honour. We are already drawing up plans. It will have turrets! ;-)

  5. Bree,
That would be most splendiferous. (Rylan keeps teasing me that I'm adopting their slang and I've lost my Victorian vernacular).
Ainsley loves castles and was most excited to hear about the turrets-- she loves everything princess, especially their stories.

"Splendiferous" is a great word! I might try using it someday... but I'm not sure I could pull it off. Worth a try, at least.

Fiona and Kiwi would love to be princesses, too... although Fiona also wants to be on Broadway and Kiwi wants to be in Cirque du Soleil. Those goals are likely more achievable dreams than princesshood, given our general lack of aristocratic blood. ;-)

  7. Ahhhhh! Florida sounds perfect! I've never been there, but I really want to go to the Everglades. That's not what most people think of visiting, though - haha. Congrats on your one year anniversary and have a great vacation.

Florida is so much fun! It's great to be able to go out in short sleeves in March, and to swim in the pool. (We did both today.) We won't get to see the Everglades, but while we're here we'll get to see a nature preserve with wildlife, which sounds fun! We also plan to kayak, go to the beach, and lots of other fun stuff. No theme parks, probably - we're more about the nature.

      Fun times!

      Love,
      Bree

      P.S. I love your new haircut! :-)
