In which things get more complicated and Lilly wins the guessing game

Hi, friends! This is Kaya.

So, you're not going to believe this. Like literally, NOT going to. I'm still not 100% sure I do. But...

It's looking like Lilly was right, in the comments she made. About... well, almost everything.

This afternoon, the sun was out, and our family went to the carnival that has come to the city for the week. We rode a few rides, had hot dogs, popcorn, and cotton candy, and played games to win stupid prizes. Yeah, we spent way too much of our allowance, but it was fun.

When we got home, we decided to go see Clare. I guess Charissa wasn't really thinking about the fact that we were early and she should really knock, because the shed is at least temporarily Clare's home. She didn't remember. She just threw open the door.

The sun was low in the sky, but it wasn't dark yet. Clare dived out of the way of the light that came in through the door, but we could see what she was doing. She was eating - or drinking, really. Blood.

It wasn't a person. It was a rat. Still, it was very unsettling. It was also the first time that Clare has seemed scared of us, not just scared about the situation. It was the most surreal moment of my life so far.

Clare is a vampire.

At least... you know... seemingly. She begged us not to tell anyone, and now the situation is more complicated. She's not just a runaway who needs some good therapy. She's a supernatural creature of the night. We're still kind of getting used to this whole thing.

It also begs the question - who scared her this badly? Other vampires? We may need to sharpen the stakes and ready the garlic.

  1. Oh, wow! That is so strange and cool about Clare. My sis Kit will be so psyched to see this post. She is dead set on finding a werewolf and if knows there really are vampires she'll be even more motivated for her hunt. But do be careful!

  2. Oh m'goodness! that's really creepy. I really think you should tell Blakeney- if not that she's a vampire, at least that there's someone living in your shed.

  3. Hey, Kaya!
Wow...that's kind-of cool that I'm write. This is the only thing I've been right about before, other than some epilepsy, respritory, and allergic reaction related things. ;)
That is just so cool, though. I read too much YA fiction for my own good, so I'm kind-of freaking out!!!!
Ask if the Volturi is after her! I hope not! ;)

  4. Yikes! Poor Clare... I hope she's ok. I mean, as long as she's not going around sucking doll blood, it's pretty cool she's a vampiress. I'd go to a local church and get some holy water in case some evil vampires (who ARE going around sucking doll blood) come to your door. That always seems to help in the books and movies. And wooden stakes and garlic are also very helpful, like you mentioned.
    Good luck! :)

P.S.: Sunny (my person) is not yet apart of the AG Playthings message board. She might be getting an account soon, though! I'll be sure to let you know if she does.

  5. Lena - I thought it was pretty disgusting at first, too, but then Bree reminded me what I had eaten at the carnival, and asked if I knew how it was made. I really had no answer for that.

Emily - Strange, yes. Clare doesn't seem to find it very cool, though. She's very reluctant to talk about it. If Kit can find her werewolf, we'll tell Clare and maybe she'll feel less alone! We're not scared of Clare. We're admittedly a little scared of whatever scared Clare.

Stella - We think we should, too. Our guardian is pretty understanding. We just don't want Clare to bolt. We're trying to convince her to let us tell so she can move into the house. She'd be a lot safer between sturdy walls and an alarm system than in a flimsy shed, plus she'd have people to help her protect herself. No luck yet.

Lilly - You were totally right! We were impressed! Honestly, we were kinda thinking it too. We watch enough Buffy and Vampire Diaries to be convinced.

Cali - Do dolls have blood? We don't know, we're people. We have plenty of access to holy water. Perhaps we should stock up. Not sure how we'll explain it to our priest, though. ;-) Evil vampires do seem like a possibility. Clare isn't evil, though. At least, we don't think so.

(Blakeney apologizes for assuming but thinks Sunny should totally join! She says AGPT is fun and Sunny would like it.)

  6. wow, that sounds like it would be really frightening at first, and then just awkward :/

I hope that all of you can figure out what's going on and what's best to do for everyone!

  7. Yeah, Aurora, you're right - it WAS awkward. In a weird way it was like walking in on someone in the shower; you feel like you've seen something that was supposed to be private.

I think it's going to be OK, though. We have another post planned to update you guys on the situation but our internet hasn't been working well and we can't stay connected for more than a minute or so at a time. Hopefully soon.

    Love,

  8. Yikes!!! What a shock!! My sister Belle happened to be reading over my shoulder and asked whether the vampire was cute or not, I had to reminder her this wasn't Twilight and I would give her some animal nose if she asked again!! If you need help I'm sure I have a vampire book here some where that or Belle has stolen it thinking it has handsome Vamps in it [Boy would she have gotten a surprise hahahahahaha]!! Anyway I hope you can convince Clare to come into your House and let your Guardian know, I sure hope that what ever she's hiding from doesn't find her first!!!

  9. Hi Neri. :-)

Clare is a pretty girl, sure. I'm not sure she's exactly what your sister has in mind for her Edward or Jacob, though. ;-)

I also think Clare has far more serious issues than romance on her mind at the moment...

    Thanks for dropping by!

    Love,

  10. By the way, here's a question for the vampire book:

According to the shows we watch (Buffy and The Vampire Diaries,) a vampire has to be invited to come in the house.

What happens if the vampire is invited but doesn't come in?

If she needed to come in sometime later, could she do so?

I hope Clare could hide in our house in an emergency, even if she won't come in otherwise.

  11. Well, I think that she should be able to come inside if she needs/wants but usually if you come into contact with a Vampire then the book would tell you that well lets just say it's not the end most people would have pictured!! Anyway I hope she trust you enough to let you take her inside!!

    Neri ;)

  12. Well, we're still alive, so apparently Clare isn't the killing-people kind of vampire. She's a nice vampire. Or... something.

Honestly we're way more scared for her than of her.

  13. I just had a sudden thought!! Maybe other Vampires are after her cause they think it's a desgrace to drink animal blood so she had to go into hiding!! Maybe it's really just a thought!!

  14. Hm... maybe we should ask about that.
